Historic House Renovation: Reviving a Mid-19th Century Stone Estate

When a discerning couple with a deep passion for historic residential architecture bought a mid-19th century stone home on the Hudson River, they inherited a complex puzzle. After a devastating fire in the 1920s, a series of crude, unsympathetic repairs had left the original structure deeply compromised.

We were brought in to perform a meticulous architectural intervention—creating a beautiful, cohesive design from the historic leftovers. Restoring a butchered landmark requires a strict reverence for classical proportions and traditional craftsmanship.

Whether reviving a historic stone mansion in Sleepy Hollow or executing a luxury house renovation and addition in historic neighborhoods like Buckhead, Atlanta, or Eastover in Charlotte, our philosophy remains the same. We honor the past while designing for permanence. We transform fragmented history into a seamless, breathtaking new home.
